Nadia Morris The Gloved Hand

In a previous incarnation, Nadia was a lawyer. She did not leave the law so much as flee from it, in the middle of the night, abandoning all her belongings. She went on to gain a first-class degree in creative writing at Bath Spa University, followed by the MA with distinction. Her short story, ‘Mechanical Bees’, was one of four highly commended in the 2016 Costa Short Story Award. The Gloved Hand is her first novel.

The Gloved Hand is a psychological mystery with parallel narratives set in Glastonbury and Bristol. Mara, a clairvoyant, can control her tarot cards and manipulate her querents’ future. She has come to Glastonbury for the Tor, for the power it has accumulated through centuries of sacrifice, to complete a summoning ritual. Meanwhile, in Bristol, David struggles to support his family following the death of his father. He finds himself increasingly preoccupied

with Grace, a girlfriend who disappeared without warning years before, and resolves to set out and find her.
